Porcelain or sandstone, what is the difference

Porcelain is a manufactured tile. Dense, low-maintenance, frost-resistant and very consistent in colour. Sandstone is a natural material, so every slab is slightly different, warmer-looking, but it needs sealing and proper jointing to perform well long-term. We use permeable jointing compound and resin-bound systems where the ground conditions call for it, which makes a real difference to drainage and longevity. Both materials have their place. It just depends on what you want from your garden and what your budget is doing.
