A decent summer deserves a decent garden

Good weather changes everything out here. When Warwickshire actually delivers a dry spell, you want to be outside using your garden, not staring at a cracked, sunken mess of old slabs wondering what went wrong. We’ve been laying patios across Leamington Spa and the surrounding postcodes long enough to know what lasts and what doesn’t.

Old stone versus modern porcelain

A lot of customers come to us wanting to replace tired York-stone-style flagstones. We get it. They’ve character, but they move, they stain, and moss gets into them something chronic. Vitrified porcelain is a different animal entirely. Low maintenance. Consistent colour. It sits flat and stays flat (which, on a heavy clay Warwickshire subsoil, matters more than people realise).

Grip and finish

We always talk to customers about surface finish. Smooth porcelain looks great in a showroom. However, wet British winters make it a liability underfoot. Where it suits the project, we specify a flame-textured granite anti-slip finish. It handles frost. It handles kids running out the back door in October.

Straight talk

We’re not perfect at everything. I’ll be honest, paperwork’s never been my strong point. But lay a clean, level patio with proper drainage? That we can do in our sleep.
