How we work

Around Orpington, Petts Wood, and out towards Chislehurst, we see a lot of older housing stock. That means damp is a conversation we have regularly. We carry out damp proofing as a matter of course, and where the wall structure calls for it, we put in a chemical damp proof course injected at low pressure into the mortar bed, it deals with rising damp properly rather than masking it.

The fabric of the build

Good building comes down to what you cannot see once the job is done. The cavity ties, the DPC laps, the concrete mix on a strip foundation. We use facing brick, engineering brick, dense concrete block, and sand-cement render depending on what the structure actually needs, not just what is quickest.

Extensions and conversions

A rear extension in Biggin Hill or a loft conversion closer to the town centre, the process is the same. We assess the structure, agree the scope, and build it correctly. No shortcuts on the structural elements, because that is where shortcuts tend to resurface later.

However well a building looks on the surface, it is only as sound as the work beneath, and that is the part we take seriously.
