A bit of background

A customer once asked me to squeeze a new garage into the tightest corner plot I’d ever seen. We managed it, just about (the neighbour’s hedge took a diplomatic trimming). That kind of problem-solving is honestly what I enjoy most about this work.

Hythe Builders has been doing this long enough to know the ground around here. From the old streets near Hythe town centre out toward Sandgate and across to Folkestone, the soil conditions, the older stock housing, the coastal damp, I know what I’m dealing with before I even lift a spade.

What we take on

We work across the full range of building work, and I mean proper hands-on building, not just the easy jobs.

How we actually work

I won’t pretend every job goes perfectly to schedule (anyone who tells you otherwise hasn’t built much). However, I do make sure every customer knows what’s happening and why, from the first visit through to the final tidy-up.

We use solid, honest materials chosen for the specific job, not whatever’s cheapest on the merchant’s shelf that week. Foundations are dug properly, blockwork is laid true, and renders are applied in the right conditions for the local climate.

Why it matters to us

A lot of our work comes from people who’ve seen something we built for a neighbour. That kind of word-of-mouth only happens when the finished job actually holds up over time, and that’s the standard I hold every project to.
