Nuneaton Patios

Nuneaton Patios

A decent summer makes it all worth it

When the sun actually shows up, you want somewhere to use it. That is the whole point. A well-laid patio turns a scrubby bit of garden into somewhere you actually want to be, and it holds its value through every Warwickshire winter that follows.

We have been laying patios across Nuneaton and the surrounding area for years. The housing stock here is varied. Red brick terraces, sandstone cottages, 1990s Barratt-style estate gardens with that awkward strip of lawn going nowhere. We know what works in each setting.

Materials we work with

  • Porcelain tiles, large format and standard
  • Indian sandstone, including kandla grey sandstone calibrated 22mm which is one of our most requested finishes
  • Concrete flagstones
  • Garden walling, block and natural stone
  • Timber fencing, close board and panel
  • Artificial grass and turfed lawns

Every job gets a proper sub-base. No shortcuts. The ground moves here, and if the base is wrong, the surface follows.

What a typical installation week looks like

We work through it in a logical order every time.

  1. Excavation. We dig out to the right depth for your soil type and the load the surface needs to carry.
  2. Sub-base. Compacted MOT Type 1, laid and rolled properly. This is where most dodgy jobs go wrong.
  3. Bedding. Either sharp sand and cement or a full mortar bed depending on the material going on top.
  4. Laying. Slabs or tiles go down level, with consistent joint spacing throughout.
  5. Jointing. Kiln-dried sand or a resin jointing compound, depending on what you have chosen. (Resin jointing is worth the extra if you have a porcelain finish, it resists weeds far better long term.)
  6. Cleaning. We leave the site clean. It does not always happen that way with every trade.
