What we do

From the ground up, patio laying is the core of what we do at Great Notley Patios. We work across Great Notley and the wider Essex area, handling everything from a modest garden path to a full outdoor living space, and we take the same care with each one.

Materials we work with

Choosing the right stone makes a real difference to how a finished patio holds up over time. Indian sandstone remains one of the most popular choices we get asked about, and for good reason, it handles the British climate well and ages gracefully. We also work regularly with porcelain tiles, concrete flagstones, and Liscannor flagstone for clients who want something with a bit more character.

Beyond the patio itself

A well-laid patio rarely stands alone. Most of our customers want the whole outdoor space brought together, so we also install timber fencing and garden walling to define the boundaries properly. Sub-base compaction and a correctly graded fall are what separate a lasting installation from one that pools water after six months, it matters more than most people expect.

We handle turfed lawns too, both roll-on grass for a clean, natural finish and artificial grass for low-maintenance areas where a living lawn isn’t practical.
