Wooden Blinds In Brief

Wooden Venetian blinds are made from a natural wood source. Wooden blinds are made of a wood called Basswood or what is refered to as Lime Tree in Europe. Each blind has a colour coordinated cord. Each wooden blind has a head rail with a control to raise the blind and a control to change the tilt angle of the wooden slats. The wooden blind has a colour matching valance that is attached to the head rail of the blind. An optional extra is to have a Ladder Tape, or a cloth tape that covers the cord and these are normally available in a choice of colours.

There are hundreds of shades, colours and wood stains to choose from. The common slat sizes that are available are 25mm, 35mm and 50mm.

The Tilt operation allows the user to accurately control the light levels in a room. The shading and shadow patterns that occur when sunlight shines on a wooden venetain blind are very striking and can transform the character of a room.

Wooden venetian blinds can be fitted into to bay windows

Box brackets and center support brackets are used to hang wood blinds.

If Inside Recess specified then the manufacturers will require the size of the recess (and not the size of the blind). The manufacturers will make the blind to fit into the window recess.
