How to Fit Venetian Blinds

HOW TO INSTALL

Step 1 Positioning of brackets

Mark off the position of the brackets, keeping the brackets level accross the window.
Ensure that the maximum distance between the brackets is 800mm i.e. 80cm.
Ensure that the position choosen allows the blind to drop, clearing any obstruction such as windows handles etc.
Ensure that the bracket positions will not interfere with the mechanisms in the blind headrail.

Step 2 Brackets can be Face fixed or top Fixed

Top Fixed Face Fixed Face Fixed Extension

Top Fixing is to mount brackets to an overhead surface such as the top inside of window frame or the ceiling. Face Fixing is to mount brackets to the window frame or wall. Extension brackets are used to increase the clearance between the blind and the window.

Step 3 Install the blind

After the brackets are fitted securely, set the arm of the swivel bracket to the open position (note the brackets shown in step 2 are in the open position). Insert the headrail into the brackets and close the arm of the swivel bracket.

Step 4 Operating the blind

Always tilt the slats to a horizontal position by turning the wand, before raising or lowering the blind.
Lowering: Pull the cord diagonally towards the centre of the blind to release the cord lock. Then allow the blind to drop by letting the cord slip through your fingers at this angle.
Raising : Pull the cord vertically until the desired position is reached. Holding the cord towards the edge of the blind will help engage the cord lock to secure the blind in position.

Step 5 Removing the blind

Use a flat blade screwdriver to open the swivel bracket.

Warning

In the interest of safety please keep all pull cords out of the reach of childern.
